Cámara de Comercio y Producción de Santo Domingo (CCPSD)

The Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo is a nonprofit, private institution, with more than 165 years of existence, promoting the dialogue and the consensus between private and public sectors, as well as supporting the creation, development and competitiveness of SMEs. To fulfill this mission, CCPSD decided to implement a Certification Entity inside the Dominican Republic.

As a Certification Entity, CCPSD required to offer products and services based on digital certificates, for which acquired Azuan®'s services, a company specialized in information security, to implement, develop and maintain the CA as integral part of CCPSD's platform.

Previous to finding Azuan®, CCPSD consulted with other international Chamber of Commerce seeking alternatives to their situation. “During the process we discover that the consulted Chambers could not offer us a solution that we could implement as part of our internal platform, that's why we had to define our own requirements” says Engineer Jenner Almánzar, Digital Solutions Manager of CCPSD.

Based on this definition, CCPSD chose Azuan® to implement the solution based on the following reasons:

• Azuan’s ability to protect both, the Entity and the access to the information on demand, with the AzuanTrust™ technology
• Azuan’s ability to implement a Certification Entity which effectively fulfills the particular expectations of the CCPSD's clients
• Azuan's capability to develop and implement specific applications, which are very easily administrated by their users
• Azuan´s experience working with Banking institutions
• Azuan’s experience implementing Open Source solutions

Having Azuan® as the implementator and developer of the Certification Entity, has allowed us to have the following benefits:

• We have obtained independence in the process to emit, renew, suspend and revoke Digital Certificates products
• It allowed us to create a platform with the necessary flexibility to continue growing and offer more product variety
• We have reduced notably our Certification Entity operating costs
